Owner, Martin Cronje, has always loved educating people and helping them reach their driving goals. After years of planning, Martin started the Smiles Driving School brand in 2009, and over 10years developed the Driving School into a full-fledged Driving Academy, that has very high service standards and an excellent first-time pass rate for students.
Our experienced training drivers/teachers ensure you receive the skills you need that you can utilize long after your final driving exam. Our curriculum helps you learn driving techniques intuitively. These hand-picked individuals are our driving instructors – they all share the Smiles passion for educating people and driving, and they make Smiles Driving Academy a great place to be. Thiean has been a driving instructor with Smiles Driving Academy for five years now, and enjoys working with clients and seeing them progress to become the best drivers they can be. Robin is our two-wheel specialist and motorcycle instructor with Smiles for almost three years now, and thinks the best part of his job is being able to ride a bike all day – and sharing that joy with other motorcycle learners, he gets super excited and joyful when her clients pass their tests.
Gerhard, who has been an instructor with Smiles for 8 years now, is passionate about training clients to pass the first time round – this puts a smile on his face! Chandre is a fresh face at Smiles Driving Academy, having joined our team about a year ago. He enjoys working and interacting with all the different types and ages of people every day, and teaching them how to drive; he also enjoys overcoming the different types of challenges each new client faces, and to see how they succeed in the process of getting their drivers license.
For seven years now Dawie has been a star member of the Smiles driving instructors team and he is passionate about putting safe and experienced drivers on the road through training learner drivers according to the Smiles curriculum. The highlight of his proffession for Johan, who has been an instructor with Smiles for six years, is seeing his clients start their driving journey with a Smiles smile!
